Longtin FamilyMerrington Warmbloods, located near  the thriving energy and farming town of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, is owned and managed by Lisa and Doug Longtin.  Our focus is breeding and training select Canadian Warmblood horses for the dressage and hunter disciplines.  Our goal is to produce expressive and correct movers with excellent rideability and temperaments, while aiming our youngsters at the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA) inspections, materiale  and  young horse classes, and ultimately the FEI Young Horse dressage tests. We take pride in our training program which produces well-rounded mounts suitable for the amateur market and fills the niche between breeders and competitors.  Services offered include board, training, lessons, sales and marketing.

Lisa Riding GermanyLisa has been riding horses since 1980.  Her training includes involvement with the Canadian Pony Club, instructor lessons and showing in jumping, dressage, and some eventing in her younger days.  More recently Lisa has focused on the development of young horses in dressage and she has enjoyed an extended working student arrangement with Hendrik Gaebel and Charlotte Hagen of Germany, www.ausbildungsstall-gaebel.de,   highlighted by a 3 month stint immersed in a young horse training stable in Germany.  Continuing the never ending quest for dressage knowledge, Lisa continues to take clinics from local and international instructors.  She is involved with the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association, (www.canadianwarmbloods.com) having taken part in riding horse station tests as an assistant trainer and she is a foal identifier.

LisaAndFamilyLisa is a senior partner in the horse marketing venture www.BreederDirect.net .

Lisa wouldn’t be enjoying her dream without the strong support of her family.  Husband Doug, and parents  Maurice and Sylvia Johnson,  have contributed countless hours to developing the facilities at Merrington Warmbloods, turning the shell of a barn and the open farmland into what it is today.  Thank you , thank you , thank you!!
