Working Student Opportunity

Merrington Warmbloods needs a hard working individual who can catch, groom, tack, and cool down young horses to expedite the daily routine and allow the head trainer more time with each horse in the arena. You will also be required to help with daily chores including feeding, tack cleaning, general cleaning, minimal stall mucking, herd health.

This groom/assistant trainer position is required from March until November (depending on the weather). Normally Monday through Thursday, 9am-3pm. Experience with young warmbloods an asset. All work is outdoors. Well be going to a few shows but it will mainly be an on farm position. Occasional farm sitting (a few weekends) may be required as well. Amount of riding the training horses will be based upon your experience and skill with the young horses - safety is paramount but well give you as much opportunity to ride different horses as is safely possible.

Terms - working student, with horse board and possibly room and board included. Opportunities include regular lessons, farm management experience, learning to work with young horses from handling, groundwork, lunging, backing, and starting under saddle and over fences. Kindersley is a busy town with many part time jobs available for earning money during off farm hours.
